Programme Overview & Summary

Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O) guidance provides advice, supported by discussion and examples, on how to develop a governance structure that helps optimize an organization’s investment in change alongside its business as usual work.

Style and Approach

The course will provide you with a comprehensive and applied understanding of the P3O advice and prepare you for the P3O Foundation and P3O Practitioner examinations. This course includes both P3O examinations, and all course materials to prepare you fully.

Audience

This course is aimed at members of offices within a P3O model or anyone who needs to understand the terminology and concepts underpinning a P3O.

Programme Structure

5 days classroom based learning with pre course learning, evening learning during the course and 2 examinations. Please note: it is a requirement to have passed Foundation examination before your Practitioner examination results will be released.

Pre Course Learning: approx. 5 hours in advance of your course.

Course Objectives

With interactive exercises and group discussions delegates will be able to distinguish between critical and non-critical priorities and tackle planning and problem solving challenges.

Course Syllabus/Topics

The course will cover a comprehensive and applied understanding of the P3O advice and prepare the delegate for the P3O Foundation and P3O Practitioner examinations.

Course Learning Outcomes

At the end of the training the delegate will be able to:

  • Pre Course Learning: approx. 5 hours in advance of your course
  • 5 day course: 35 hours
  • Evening work: 8-10 hours doing mock exam questions
  • Foundation examination (taken in your own time following day 3): multiple choice, 75 questions, 35 correct answers (50%) to pass, 1 hour, closed book
  • Practitioner examination (taken in your own time following the course): 2.5 hours, open-book (the official P3O manual only), 80 marks (4 questions with 20 marks per question), 40 marks to pass (50%).
