GVC Drone Training (VLOS – visual line of sight certificate)
Programme Overview & Summary
This external course provides the foundations for operators to start their commercial drone journey and enables them to become a qualified and competent remote drone pilot who can operate safely and legally. Upon completion, successful candidates are awarded the GVC (General Visual Line of Sight Certificate). This is a remote pilot competency certificate The candidates will also be awarded an A2 CofC (A2 Certificate of Competence) which allows pilots the ability to operate their drone in the Open Category (A2 subcategory) specifically sub 250g drones.
Style and Approach
Candidates must complete 1 required flight assessment module and tailored modules agreed with Air Operations around operating over the railway infrastructure, including: - Basic manoeuvres flight module - take-off, landing, 45 degree ascent and descent, figure of 8, night operations, plus GPS and ATTI mode flight. - Drone videography flight - how to use the camera and gimbal to shoot video both while stationary and in motion.

Preparing for the workshop
All learners are required to complete the online learning provided by the UK CAA and successfully pass the multiple choice examination, in order to obtain a Remote Pilot (RP) identification number.

5-8 Participants.
Prerequisite & Requirements
All learners are required to complete the online learning provided
by the UK CAA and successfully pass the multiple choice examination, in order to obtain a Remote Pilot (RP) identification number.
Read the aircraft user manual All learners are required to download a user manual either for the drone which their department has issued, or one which they are considering for future procurement.
