Programme Overview & Summary
The APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is a knowledge-based qualification developed by the Association
for Project Management (APM), the chartered body for the project profession. By completing this course you will be able
to demonstrate an understanding of how all elements of project management interact and how your project fits into your strategic and commercial environment.
Style and Approach
This course covers provides comprehensive coverage of the PMQ syllabus: 11 learning outcomes and 67 assessment criteria – the specific topics you are required to know.
Audience
The PMQ is aimed at anyone with pre-existing project management knowledge and at least 2 years experience of leading projects, ideally in a project manager role. This course is NOT for anyone new to project management or anyone wanting to gain a broad understanding of the principles of the subject – if this is you, please book onto the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) course.
Programme Structure
In this intensive course, you will be asked to complete 15-20hrs of pre course digital learning before attending a 5 day onsite course. There will be evening work 5-12 hours completing mock exam questions. At the end of the course you will be expected to take 3 hour 15 min exam.

This workshop is for any Network Rail employees aiming to gain APM certifications.

Course Duration
15-20 hours of digital learning followed by a 5 day course (35 hours) and a 3 hrs 15 mins exam.

Course Learning Commitment
This is an intensive course and you are expected to commit 55-60 hours minimum to it – please ensure you can dedicate this time:
- Pre Course Learning: 15-20 hours in advance of your course
- 5 day course: 35 hours
- Evening work: 8-12 hours doing mock exam questions
- Exam (9am the Tuesday following your course): 3h 15 minutes, closed-book, 10 short essay-style questions (from a choice of 16), each question is worth 50 marks, 273 marks (55%) to pass.
