Programme Overview & Summary

Safety Assurance is paramount at Network Rail and in the Rail Industry as a whole. The 2-day programme comprises of:

Day 1: Exploration of the topic through a simulation exercise The simulation exercise is set in a station environment as it is relatively universal and relatable by all. The programme content and assets have been created and consist of video, audio and paper-based documentation materials.

Day 2: This involves learning input and self-reflective activities to develop and practice the non-technical skills required to support the achievement of effective level 1 assurance approach and practices.

Style and Approach

The programme involves practical application exercises completed before and after the classroom learning day. Both days are interactive and participative using a mixture of group work, facilitator input and discussions.

Audience

The programme addresses a diverse audience targeting employees at various roles with a direct or indirect impact and engagement with safety assurance.

  • Take steps to support the creation of a culture where individuals take accountability for compliant behaviours and where safety assurance goes beyond a tick-box exercise.
